Click hear to listen to the dan moi (the black one shown above).
The dan moi is the traditional Vietnamese "Jew's harp" made by the Hmong, located in the northern mountains of Vietnam. At least one of my dan mois (the one on the bottom) is said to be made by the famous Vietnamese instrument maker: Phan Chi Tinh (who is now teaching his son, Phan Chi Hong), to carry on the traditional trade. To be honest, I really don't know how "famous" Phan Chi Tinh really is, but is sounds good, right?!
