The above instrument is one of my most prized possessions. While it is simple in appearance, it is far more difficult to play than most other forms of the flute. When played properly, it has a beautiful and yet haunting tone that one never forgets. I recieved this instrument from its maker (and master Moari musician) Paikea, who we refered to by his Western name, Jason.
